Description

Parker Chomerics CHO-SEAL 6502 is a silicone-based nickel-aluminium filled conductive elastomer gasket material designed to provide effective EMI shielding and environment sealing for electronic enclosures. It combines a resilient silicone elastomer matrix with a conductive filler to deliver reliable electromagnetic interference attenuation across a broad frequency range.

The material is suitable for aerospace, defence, telecommunications and industrial electronics applications where consistent electrical performance and environmental sealing are required. CHO-SEAL 602 supports long-term shielding effectiveness while maintaining flexibility and mechanical integrity.

Features

Nickel-Aluminum Conductive Filler

  • The conductive particles are Ni/Al, which combine conductivity with corrosion robustness.

Sillicone Elastomer Matrix

  • The binder is silicone, giving the gasket good chemical resistance and flexibility.

High Shielding Effectiveness

  • The material delivers very high levels of EMI attenuation — for example, shielding levels of ~110 dB at 2 GHz are quoted for certain geometries.

Recommended Uses

  • Aerospace & Defense: Used in extruded or molded gaskets for aircraft electronic bay doors, access panels, or bulkheads where both EMI shielding and environmental sealing are needed.
  • Connector Interfaces: As molded O-rings or cross-section gaskets in RF / high-reliability connectors to maintain electrical continuity and seal.
  • Harsh Industrial Electronics: Protecting enclosures in industrial systems, telecom gear, or life-science equipment that need EMI protection while exposed to chemicals, moisture or wide temperature variation.
