Makrolon

Covestro Makrolon is a series of robust polycarbonates, lightweight with glass-like transparency in addition to being impact resistant even at low temperatures. Covestro Makrolon also has a high dimensional stability and is easily molded, yet displays excellent heat resistance with a glass transition temperature of up to 148°C.

Compared with other thermoplastics, the amorphous material Covestro Makrolon has a very unique property profile. It is noted above all for its high transparency, heat resistance, toughness and dimensional stability coupled with a high creep modulus and good electrical insulation properties. Glass fibre reinforced Makrolon has particularly high stiffness and outstanding dimensional stability.
